Our Survey Technicians:
•Survey below ground and above ground utilities
•Perform topographic surveys as planned and on demand
•Set, document, and maintain Geodetic Control Points throughout the site
•Manage community GPS base station
•Interact and coordinate surveys and utility locations with different utility managers
•Perform surveys in harsh weather conditions: extreme heat and dust
•Transfer survey data to GIS system
•Learn and conform to established facility survey procedures
•Train AF personnel in the use of GPS survey equipment and procedures as needed
•Update GIS database
•Successful background check, drug test and physical is required for this role.
•Candidate must have ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) Common Access Card (CAC) and Secret Clearance. To obtain, must be a U.S. citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
•Associates of Science in Land Surveying or degree in an equivalent engineering field (or may substitute an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
•A minimum of 5 years survey experience as a survey technician preparing and presenting the results of field collected, research, and office computations, such as base maps cross sections and profiles.
Proficient with MS Office automated field data collection and survey geometry applications.
•Working knowledge of Trimble GPS survey grade equipment (R8 and TSC2), and related software – Trimble Business Center and/or Trimble Geomatics Office)
•Ability to use standard tapes and electronic field equipment in a fashion consistent with accepted practice.
•Ability to perform calculations from field note data.
•Able to read, interpret, and use topographic maps and design drawings.
•Demonstrated understanding of basic survey or CAD computer applications.
•Demonstrated ability to read, understand and explain plans and specifications of normal complexity.
•Proficient in AutoCAD and LDD.
